Welcome!

Helping Paws Pet Haven is a no-kill animal sanctuary and adoption center for cats. Located in Huntington, Indiana, HPPH provides shelter for abandoned, neglected, and abused felines in a unique, cage-free facility.

While HPPH works toward placing all felines in good homes, we realize that some cats may never be adopted because of medical conditions, age, or other reasons. For these cats we provide special community areas that allow them to play, rest, socialize, and live out their natural lives in a safe, comfortable, caring environment.

June 29th, 2008 Paw Print for Sunday, June 29, 2008

Howdy ya 'll.....Ralph here....and I'm thinking that you might NOT even remember me, since it's been so long that I have gotten to write the newspaper article! Just remember that I'm that great big fluffy orange and white tabby, sexy-senior-feline, that trys my hardest to keep up with ALL the SCOOP at Helping Paws, so that I can report to all of you! I want to make sure that you each have a grand Fourth of July celebration this year and to make sure that all your furry members of the family are well protected INSIDE, so that all the loud noises don't scare us and have us react in a strange way. Our wonderful volunteers told us that we get to play with those fireworks that you throw on the ground and they turn into a snake so we're looking forward to that. They are also giving us colored caulk so that we can do sidewalk art on why we are glad to have all our freedom on July 4th. They are actually going to judge the best artwork and then past out catnip treats to the winners. I've been practicing my skills on drawing so I'm sure they are going to have to pick at least one of my famous artwork masterpieces! I must run for now...since I'm trying to trace a feline flag of MYSELF....I'm sure that will win the BIG PRIZE! Here's Gabby for you....Hi Yeeeeee...Gabby the friendly long-hair calico here. I've been kept very busy the past few days at the Adoption Center since new replacement windows were installed for us. You can imagine how difficult it was at times, to make sure that none of my fellow-felines decided to take a plunge out the open windows while they were being replaced. To be real honest, our volunteers SPOIL us so much here at Helping Paws that any feline would have been a fool to even think about jumping out the windows! All the new windows are now in and do they look nice! They actually open (our old ones did not) so that we can get some great ventilation on some of these beautiful days. We certainly want to THANK all those kind people who donated towards the new windows and let it be know how much we appreciate them! Here's Ms LuLu to let you know what our want list is for this week. Hello Darlings....Ms. LuLu here...and as I hope you truly remember me as your "FAVORITE couch therapist"! I have been enjoying the summer with so many kind folks stopping out to visit with us Kit-Kats. You must realize that I am the official greeter at the Adoption Center, so I get to see and meet EVERYONE who comes thru the door. Please note that if you don't pay attention to me...and tell me how beautiful my green eyes are...I normally will reach out and grab your ankle until you do! I have been taking notes the last few weeks to let you know how we can use your help. Here are the main items that we truly need from YOU! Any type of kitty litter, 30-gallon trash bags, laundry detergent, bleach, wet can food, colorful sheets, pillow cases, towels, or bedspreads, and any amount of financial support to help pay our utilities bills with. With our thick fur coats on, we definitely have to have the A/C on for us and that naturally costs MONEY! Ralph is giving me the "cut-off-sign"...so I must bid you a fare-well! Wishing you HAPPY TRAILS...until we meet again....HAPPY JULY 4th to ALL! We love you....Ralph, Gabby, Ms LuLu and all the HAPPY Kit-Kats at Helping Paws.
